Job summary

Piramal Pharma Ltd is seeking a Chief Manager- India CMO Management for Piramal Critical Care. You will oversee external supply, coordinate with CMOs and cross-functional teams to ensure uninterrupted supply of product SKUs, and manage forecasting, planning and supplier relationships from Kurla, Mumbai.

The role demands strong SAP/MMRP knowledge, extensive supply chain experience in pharma, and ability to drive governance with CMOs and internal stakeholders. Medium travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field (Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business or preferred).
  • MBA or Graduate level Supply Chain degree preferred.
  • Experienced in managing satellite supply chain with interface of multiple CMO, CRO and testing sites.
  • Expertise in running parallel activities of complex supply chain.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in two or more of Planning, Strategic Sourcing, and Supply Chain in pharma or life sciences.
  • Experience with production planning and inventory control, preferably in pharma.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP is mandatory.
  • General knowledge of MRP and inventory control systems.
  • APICS certification is desirable.
  • Exposure to cGMP principles and practices.
  • Analytical, conceptual, problem solving and decision making.
  • Good collaborative skills.
  • Proficiency in forecasting methods and understanding financial/operational impact.
  • Solid understanding of finance and business systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure uninterrupted supply from assigned CMOs through forecasting, supply planning, scheduling, procurement coordination and supplier management.
  • Manage end-to-end external supply planning for CMOs ensuring inventory availability and service levels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with CMOs to resolve supply issues and improve performance.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination with Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Finance.
  • Participate in forecasting, demand planning, inventory planning, capacity planning and S&OP processes.
  • Execute MRP planning activities and timely procurement for external manufacturing.
  • Maintain planning master data (Material Masters, BOM, Production Versions, MRP params).
  • Monitor inventory performance, safety stock, supply risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Support onboarding of new CMOs, product launches, tech transfers and continuity initiatives.
  • Present periodic supply performance updates and risk assessments to senior management.
  • Lead governance meetings with CMOs to review performance and risks.
  • Support commercial discussions with CMOs on capacity, lead times and transfer pricing.
  • Provide guidance to shared resources and cross-functional teams.
  • Support supplier development and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support global sourcing initiatives and cross-functional projects.

Job Description

The External Supply Manager is responsible to manage the external sourced supply chain of products to ensure the uninterrupted supply of all product SKUs assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply from assigned Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) through effective forecasting, supply planning, production scheduling, procurement coordination and supplier management.
  • Manage end-to-end external supply planning for assigned CMOs while ensuring inventory availability, service levels and inventory optimization.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with CMOs to resolve supply issues, improve operational performance and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination with Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Commercial and Finance teams to manage supply risks and support business priorities.
  • Participate in forecasting, demand planning, inventory planning, capacity planning and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) processes.
  • Execute MRP planning activities and ensure timely procurement of materials required for uninterrupted manufacturing at external sites.
  • Maintain planning master data including Material Masters, Bills of Material (BOM), Production Versions and MRP parameters to support planning accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory performance, safety stock levels and supply risks while driving timely mitigation plans.
  • Support onboarding of new CMOs, product launches, technology transfers and supply continuity initiatives.
  • Prepare and present periodic supply performance updates, inventory reports, risk assessments and CMO performance reviews to senior management.
  • Drive CMO performance management through development and maintenance of performance dashboards and KPI reviews to support governance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead periodic governance meetings with CMOs to review operational performance, key risks, service levels and improvement initiatives.
  • Support commercial discussions with CMOs related to capacity planning, lead times, transfer pricing and supply agreements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide functional guidance and support to shared resources, interns and cross-functional team members to facilitate effective execution, knowledge sharing and capability development.
  • Support supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance supply chain efficiency and operational excellence
  • Support global sourcing initiatives and cross-functional projects as required.
