Kotak Life invites an experienced Chief Manager - ALM (Actuary) for our Mumbai office. The role focuses on Asset Liability Management, Economic Capital, and Risk Based Capital, with responsibilities spanning hedging, capital modelling, and governance across life-insurance liabilities.

Ideal candidates are near-qualified/qualified actuaries with 4–7 years’ life-insurer experience, proficient in Prophet and DCS, and strong stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Near-qualified or qualified actuary from IFoA or IAI.
• Having 4-7 years of experience in a Life Insurer.
• Experience in Prophet and DCS.
• Prior experience in Valuation, Shareholder Reporting or Risk team preferred.
• Stakeholder Management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Asset Liability Management Council deck for management.
• Calculate and monitor the derivative position for hedging.
• Calculate and monitor duration and cashflow gaps with explanations of changes.
• Evaluate guarantees embedded in products.
• Test the resilience of the Balance Sheet against market stresses.
• Assess the Strategic Asset Allocation for each fund.
• Calculate Economic Capital and explain quarterly changes.
• Calibrate shocks for Economic Capital.
• Assist in the preparation of Risk Based Capital numbers per IRDAI guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Weightage

• Asset Liability Management:

v Preparationof the Asset Liability Management Council deck to be presented to themanagement.

v Calculatingand monitoring the derivative position of the company to ensure sufficienthedging.

v Calculationand monitoring of duration & cashflow gaps along with explanation of keychanges

v Evaluationof guarantees embedded in the products.

v Testingthe resilience of the Balance Sheet against market related stresses

v Assessmentof the Strategic Asset Allocation for each fund

• Economic Capital:

v Calculatingthe Economic Capital requirement of the company as well as explanation of howthe capital requirement is changing each quarter.

v Calibrationof the shocks required for Economic Capital.

v Adhocimprovements and changes in the Economic Capital process to comply with anydirectives/circulars proposed by IRDAI.

• Risk Based Capital

v Calculating/assistingin the preparation of the Risk Based Capital numbers as per guidelines setout by IRDAI.

Other skill set:
