Job summary

Soch Street is seeking a seasoned CFO/Head of Finance to lead financial strategy, budgeting and governance from our Chennai base. You will drive FP&A, P&L management, cash flow planning, and investor relations in a growth-stage environment.

The role requires partnering with founders and executives, building scalable finance processes, and mentoring a high-performing team. This in-person position anchors strategic decision-making and capital allocation as the company scales.

Qualifications

• CFO/Head of Finance level experience required.
• Strong FP&A, P&L management, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to partner with founders/CEOs and leadership.
• Growth-stage/venture-funded experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of unit economics, profitability and working capital.
• Based in Chennai, in-person role.

What You'll Own

• Financial Strategy & Business Planning – Own the company's financial strategy, annual operating plan, long-range planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• P&L & Business Performance – Drive financial performance across revenue, margins, costs, profitability, and cash flows, partnering closely with business leaders to improve outcomes.
• FP&A & MIS – Build robust financial dashboards, management reporting, business reviews, and forward-looking analysis that enable faster decision-making.
• Cash Flow & Working Capital – Own cash-flow planning, liquidity, working capital management, and capital allocation to maintain a healthy cash position.
• Business & Unit Economics – Deep-dive into customer acquisition, contribution margins, destination/product profitability, channel economics, and other key B2C travel metrics.
• Fundraising & Investor Management – Partner with founders on fundraising, investor communication, financial modelling, due diligence, and preparation of investor materials.
• Financial Controls & Governance – Strengthen accounting, internal controls, compliance, audit processes, and financial governance as the business scales.
• Commercial Finance – Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Leadership teams on pricing, promotions, customer economics, and strategic business decisions.
• Finance Team Leadership – Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team with strong ownership across controllership, FP&A, taxation, treasury, and business finance.
• Strategic Decision Support – Act as a key thought partner to the founders, bringing financial rigour and commercial insight to major growth and investment decisions.

What's Needed

• Strong experience in CFO / Head of Finance / Finance Director roles
• Strong FP&A, P&L management, cash-flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls experience
• Demonstrated ability to partner closely with founders / CEOs and business leadership
• Strong commercial orientation with the ability to connect financial metrics to business outcomes
• Experience building and scaling finance processes in a growth-stage organisation
• Strong understanding of unit economics, profitability, and working capital
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skillsBased in Chennai, in person

Preferred

• Experience in B2C, consumer internet, travel, hospitality, e-commerce, marketplace, or technology businesses
• Experience in a venture-funded / growth-stage company
• Experience managing fundraising, investor relations, and due diligence
• Experience leading and scaling finance teams
• CA / MBA (Finance) preferred
• Prior experience with businesses at ₹450 Cr+ revenue scale is preferred
