LOADLINE SHIP MANAGEMENT PRIVATE LIMITED seeks an experienced Chief Engineer for an Oil/Chemical Tanker. You will lead the Engine Department, oversee maintenance of main and auxiliary systems, and ensure cargo equipment operates safely and efficiently.

You will ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM and ISGOTT, maintain records, manage spares and supervise shore-based technicians. Strong leadership and reporting skills are essential for PSC and Class readiness.

Qualifications

  • Valid Chief Engineer CoC and STCW certification.
  • Experience as Chief Engineer on Oil/Chemical Tankers.
  • Knowledge of tanker safety, cargo operations and applicable statutory/class requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and maintenance management skills.
  • Good communication and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the Engine Department ensuring safe and efficient operation of all machinery.
  • Ensure maintenance and reliability of main and auxiliary engines, boilers, pumps and cargo-related systems.
  • Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISGOTT, Class, Flag and Company requirements.
  • Maintain engineering records, planned maintenance systems, inventories and technical documentation.
  • Monitor fuel, lubricants and spare-parts consumption for cost-effective operation.
  • Supervise repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting and overhauls with shore-based staff.
  • Support safe cargo operations and proper cargo machinery operation.
  • Ensure readiness for PSC, Flag and Class inspections and pollution-prevention compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety training within Engine Dept.
  • Investigate machinery defects and implement corrective actions.

Chief Engineer – Oil/Chemical Tanker

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for an Oil/Chemical Tanker. The candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and management of all vessel machinery and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the Engine Department and ensure safe and efficient operation of all machinery.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and reliability of main engine, auxiliary engines, boilers, pumps, cargo-related machinery and associated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISGOTT, Class, Flag and Company requirements.
  • Maintain engineering records, planned maintenance systems, inventories and technical documentation.
  • Monitor fuel, lubricating oil and spare-parts consumption and maintain cost-effective operation.
  • Supervise repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting and overhauls, including coordination with shore-based technicians and service engineers.
  • Support safe cargo operations and ensure proper operation of cargo-related machinery and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with pollution-prevention requirements and maintain readiness for PSC, Flag and Class inspections.
  • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox meetings and safety training within the Engine Department.
  • Investigate machinery defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements:

  • Valid Chief Engineer CoC and relevant STCW certification.
  • Previous experience as Chief Engineer on Oil/Chemical Tankers.
  • Good knowledge of tanker safety, cargo operations and applicable statutory/Class requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance management skills.
