Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to ensure safe and efficient operation of refrigeration systems, material handling equipment, and facility infrastructure.

The role leads maintenance staff, schedules projects, and ensures safety and regulatory compliance across operations. You will train personnel, participate in Emergency Response Team activities, manage contractor relationships and payments, and report to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance and operation of industrial refrigeration systems, including 2 years in a senior position.
• Strong knowledge in federal and state regulatory compliance programs including OSHA Process Safety Management and EPA Risk Management Programs.
• Working knowledge of the PRW industry and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and budgeting for capital/major repairs.
• Ability to read blueprints and P&IDs and understand refrigeration controls.
• Mechanical skills and the ability to work to safety standards and procedures.
• RETA certification recommended and must pass Emergency Response Physical.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have or be able to complete the below qualifications

Education

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• RETA Certified Recommended
• Must pass Emergency Response Physical. (Lung Capacity and Auditory Testing are conducted annually)

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance and operation of industrial refrigeration systems including 2 years in a senior position.
• Strong knowledge in federal and state regulatory compliance programs including but not limited to OSHA Process Safety Management and EPA Risk Management Programs.
• Working knowledge of the public refrigerated warehouse (PRW) industry.
• Working knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems (e.g. anhydrous ammonia)
• Working knowledge of the functions of various material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks, lead acid batteries, battery chargers, etc.).
• Knowledge of capital and major repair budgeting
• Ability to read and understand blue prints and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of refrigeration control systems, microprocessors, and asset management systems (e.g. Infor EAM).
• Knowledge of mechanics and mechanical skills.
