Job summary

Kent is seeking an experienced Electrical Deputy Chief Engineer to be based in Mumbai/Vadodara, India. The role requires extensive electrical feed and detailed design experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sectors with large EPC firms or engineering consultancies.

The successful candidate will review and guide all discipline deliverables, including drawings, BOMs, and 3D models, and will lead substation layout decisions and power distribution philosophy.

Qualifications

  • Extensive electrical design experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sectors.
  • Ability to review and guide discipline engineering deliverables including data sheets, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with large EPC or engineering consultancies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare/review design basis per client criteria.
  • Guide creation of discipline deliverables like drawings, specs, BOMs and 3D models.
  • Review area classifications and electrical equipment sizing calculations.
  • Lead substation layout decisions with design team.
  • Provide guidance for power control and distribution philosophy.
  • Review installation drawings and vendor documents for project compliance.

Job Description

About the Job:

Kent is looking for an experiencedElectrical,Deputy ChiefEngineerto be based in Mumbai/ Vadodara office, whowill have a relevantelectrical feed and detailed designexperience in projects, mostly in the field of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sector with large EPC companies or Engineering Consulting organizations.

Skills andResponsibilities

  • Prepare/Review design basis for the project as per the client design criteria.
  • Review / provide guidance for preparation of all discipline engineering and design deliverables such asslds, specifications, datasheets, BOM, Panel and Cable schedule, 3D model, interconnection wiring drawings etc.
  • Review andcheckingof Area classification drawings.
  • Review calculations for all Electrical Equipment like Powertransformers, DGs, Battery Sizing, Capacitor sizing, Grounding and Lightening protection. Cable sizing etc.
  • Decide the substation layouts optimizing the size and design of the same along with the design team.
  • Provide guidance for preparation of all layout drawings ,3D models and mtogeneration.
  • Prepare / provide guidance for preparation of power control and distribution philosophy for electrical system.
  • Review installation drawings.
  • Preparation or Review of Requisitions for quotation and for purchase
  • Review vendor documents and quotations for compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare with cost/resource estimates, bid evaluations and project proposals.
  • General guidance to designers for deciding the cable tray / trench routing and review 3D models.
  • Attend model reviews as per project schedule.
  • Shop inspections and Electrical Equipment FAT/SAT
  • Site surveys and adequacy checks if required.
  • Attend risk management meetings as required.
  • Perform technical audits and quality reviews.
  • Site pre-commissioning activities and engineering support as required as per project scope of work.
  • Work out the MFL for the project as per the project schedule and inform HOD well in advance if any additional resource requirements
  • International Codes & Standards and Best Engineering Practices that apply to Electrical.
  • Quality management system and procedures
  • Project management and control procedures
  • Electrical workflow and interdisciplinary co-ordination
  • Project Electrical Deliverables
  • Adherence to HSE norms by self and team
  • Proficiency in understanding of Electrical Operating philosophy.

These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
