Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
• Strong laboratory skills including sample preparation and instrument handling.
• Experience with ISO, NABL and environmental testing standards is desirable.
• Ability to interpret data, report test results and troubleshoot analytical issues.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations is advantageous.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Chemist role based in the Greater Chennai Area. The Chemist will perform routine and specialized laboratory testing, including chemical and biological analyses, aligned with environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and handling samples, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, conducting data analysis, and documenting results in accordance with ISO, NABL, and NABET requirements. The role involves supporting environmental testing and audit projects, contributing to research and development activities, and collaborating with engineers and consultants on client assignments. The Chemist will also assist in quality control procedures, ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines, and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory methods and workflows.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills, including sample preparation, instrument handling, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Candidates should possess Quality Control capabilities, including method validation, calibration checks, and compliance with ISO and NABL standards.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, reporting of test results, and troubleshooting analytical issues.
• Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) and Research skills, including method optimization, literature review, and support for new testing initiatives.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Experience in environmental testing laboratories or industrial hygiene and safety domains is an advantage.
• Familiarity with national environmental regulations and pollution control board requirements is beneficial.
