Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Cheminformatics Expert in India to ensure accuracy of automated pipelines that extract substances, reactions and chemistry concepts from documents. You will evaluate outputs, build high-quality test sets and collaborate with Data Science and Technology teams to continually improve data quality and enrichment.

The role requires PhD in Chemistry with experience in large-scale datasets, knowledge of cheminformatics methods, and ability to implement scalable automated workflows

• Experience applying cheminformatics methods to evaluate and improve data quality.
• Ability to build automated workflows to monitor and validate content quality (Python, Knime or similar).

About the Role:

• As a Cheminformatics Expert, you will bring chemistry expertise together with quality assurance practices to ensure the accuracy of an automated pipeline that extracts substances, reactions and chemistry‑related concepts from documents. You will evaluate extraction outputs, identify systematic errors, build high‑quality test sets, and collaborate with Data Science and Technology partners to drive continuous improvement of the data we deliver.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• PHD in Chemistry and experience working with large‑scale chemistry datasets.

• Understanding of major life science or chemistry information databases.
• Ability to build automated workflows to monitor and validate content quality (Python, Knime or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with scientific and technical partners.
