Elsevier in India is seeking a Cheminformatics Expert to ensure the accuracy of an automated pipeline that extracts substances, reactions and chemistry-related concepts from documents. About the Role:

As a Cheminformatics Expert, you will bring chemistry expertise together with quality assurance practices to ensure the accuracy of an automated pipeline that extracts substances, reactions and chemistry-related concepts from documents. You will evaluate extraction outputs, identify systematic errors, build high-quality test sets, and collaborate with Data Science and Technology partners to drive continuous improvement of the data we deliver.

Responsibilities:

• Analysing large chemistry datasets to identify quality issues and opportunities to improve data extraction, enrichment, and structure.
• Developing automated workflows and tests to monitor and validate the accuracy of chemistry-related content.
• Collaborating with Data Science, Product, and Technology partners to enhance data quality and enrichment processes.
• Applying coding and data analysis skills to design scalable solutions that improve reliability and consistency of scientific data.

Requirements:

• PHD in Chemistry and experience working with large-scale chemistry datasets.
• Experience applying cheminformatics methods to evaluate and improve data quality.
• Understanding of major life science or chemistry information databases.
• Ability to build automated workflows to monitor and validate content quality (Python, Knime or similar)
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with scientific and technical partners..
