Job summary

SG Oasis in Varanasi is seeking an experienced culinary professional specialized in South Indian cuisine to lead production for catering and large-volume events. The role demands hands-on mastery of authentic dishes and the ability to manage busy kitchen operations efficiently.

You will oversee day-to-day production, ensure consistency in taste and presentation, and coordinate with senior chefs for planning. Relocation to Varanasi is welcome for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • 510 years of relevant experience in South Indian cuisine.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in authentic South Indian cooking.
  • Experience in catering, bulk food production, central kitchen or high-volume food operations preferred.
  • Should be capable of independently handling South Indian food production.
  • Strong knowledge of South Indian breakfast and main-course preparations.
  • Experience in large-scale events / wedding catering / institutional catering will be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene, safety and kitchen SOPs.
  • Hotel Management / Culinary qualification preferred.
  • Candidates willing to relocate to Varanasi are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute authentic South Indian cuisine as per established recipes and quality standards.
  • Handle bulk food production for catering operations and large-volume events.
  • Independently manage assigned kitchen sections and ensure smooth day-to-day production.
  • Prepare South Indian breakfast, main-course and specialty dishes as required.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, portioning and food quality.
  • Coordinate with the Sous Chef / Executive Chef for daily production planning and requirements.
  • Ensure proper mise-en-place and timely preparation of food.
  • Monitor food wastage, portion control and basic food-cost parameters.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, sanitation and food safety.
  • Guide and supervise Commis Chefs and other junior kitchen staff.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of food ingredients.
  • Support menu preparation and execution for catering events and large-volume requirements.
