Job summary

Sindoori Management Solutions in Chennai is seeking a Chartered Accountant with 12-15 years of experience to lead the accounts function, ensuring accurate closure and robust governance. You will oversee financial statements, MIS, audits, and compliance while driving improvements in controls and automation.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, regulatory requirements, and experience coordinating with HR on labour-law related financial obligations.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in managing accounts and finance.
  • Senior level exposure with heading an accounts function in large, process-driven organizations.
  • Experience with insurance accounting, gratuity matters, labour law compliance, audits and statutory reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, statutory compliance and financial controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end Accounts department, ensuring accuracy, control, and timely closure of books.
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements, balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, and related schedules.
  • Establish robust internal controls and implement automated financial systems for governance.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual MIS and management reporting for leadership decisions.
  • Coordinate internal, statuta ry, tax audits and timely closure of observations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations including direct/indirect taxes and Companies Act.
  • Monitor insurance accounting, gratuity provisioning and related reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with HR on labour law-related financial obligations and benefits.
  • Strengthen SOPs, financial discipline and risk controls to protect assets.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the accounts team with accountability and timely delivery.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the end-to-end Accounts department, ensuring accuracy, control, and timely closure of books.
  • Oversee preparation and finalization of financial statements, balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow, and related schedules in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure robust internal controls, process compliance, and proper implementation of automated financial and accounting systems for efficient governance.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS, financial reviews, and management reporting for leadership decision-making.
  • Coordinate internal audit, statutory audit, tax audit, and other financial reviews, and ensure timely closure of observations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including direct tax, indirect tax, Companies Act, and other applicable financial regulations.
  • Monitor insurance-related accounting matters, gratuity accounting and funding coordination, and related financial provisions and reconciliations in line with organizational policies.
  • Work closely with HR and compliance stakeholders on labour law-linked financial obligations, employee benefit provisions, and related statutory support requirements.
  • Strengthen departmental SOPs, financial discipline, and risk controls to protect organizational assets and improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts team while driving accountability, quality, and turnaround time across deliverables.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
  • 1215 years of progressive experience in Accounts and Finance, with strong exposure to heading an accounts function.
  • Prior experience in a large institution or similarly complex organization with an automated control environment is strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to insurance accounting, gratuity matters, labour law-related compliance support, audits, and statutory reporting is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, statutory compliance, financial controls, and audit coordination is expected.
  • Candidates from large hospitals, institutions, corporates, or other process-driven organizations with mature finance controls will be preferred, especially where the role involved financial reporting, audits, compliance, and systems-led accounting operations
