IIM CALCUTTA ENDOWMENT MANAGEMENT FOUNDATION

Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

IIM Calcutta Endowment Management Foundation (IIMCEMF) has been formed for the purpose of reaching out to Alumni, Corporates and HNI to further their engagement with Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) through fund raising to help support achievement of aspirational goals of the Institute. IIMCEMF is a Section 8 company administered by a Board consisting of IIMC Alumni, Director and Dean DER (Development and External Relations) of IIMC.

IIMC is a premier business school in India. It was the first Indian Institute of Management to be established in the year 1961. It has been playing a pioneering role in professionalising management practice in Indian and global organisations through its Postgraduate and Doctoral level programmes, Executive Education Programmes, Research and Consulting Activities. We are triple accredited: by the European Foundation for Management Development (EQUIS), the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). IIMC is the only India partner for the prestigious Global Alliance in Management Education Programme (CEMS).

The core role of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be to raise funds through endowments and other donations by stepping up outreach to Alumni, Corporates (CSR), Family Offices and Philanthropists.

Job Description

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the highest executive role in the organization and will report to the IIMCEMF Board. She/He will work closely with the Dean DER for day-to-day functioning. The primary responsibility is fund raising. Detailed responsibilities include:

• Develop business strategies and plans to achieve fund raising targets and to manage expenses within budgets.
• Oversee operations and activities across the organisation, recruit and build a cohesive team, set out and cascade KRAs appropriately. Ensure robust performance management of the entire team.
• Collaborate with the Institute team in identifying projects and causes where funding is required and update the list regularly.
• Engage with and develop good relationship with all the Institute stakeholders including Director, Dean DER and faculty of IIM Calcutta.
• Improve and strengthen engagement with the alumni globally by working closely with the Institute alumni office under the Dean DER.
• Develop a CSR fundraising strategy and spearhead its execution by building relationships with CEOs and CSR heads.
• Develop strategies to engage with large Family Offices, high profile philanthropist and UHNIs.
• Enforce statutory compliance and adherence to prevailing laws, regulations and IIMCEMF policies.

Experience and skills

Minimum 20 years of working experience. Proven experience as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Head of Business unit with responsibility for revenue/profit targets. Sales/Marketing leaders from B2B organisations, Investment Bankers, those with fund-raising responsibilities in similar organisations are preferred profiles. Entrepreneurial mindset, achievement orientation, effective communication skills, ability to build teams are some of the key attributes required. Prior working experience engaging with corporate sector for CSR funds and/or existing network of donors would be preferred.

Education: Good bachelor’s degree with MBA from a premier institution. Alumni of IIM Calcutta will be preferred.
