Qualifications

Position Overview

MS Clinical Research is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cell Biology / Senior Cell Biology Scientist to lead and expand our Cell Biology division. The successful candidate will provide scientific and operational leadership for in vitro safety and efficacy studies, oversee laboratory operations, mentor scientific teams, and drive research excellence across multiple projects involving cell culture, molecular biology, and advanced tissue models.

This role requires strong expertise in 2D and 3D cell culture systems, cosmetic and pharmaceutical product testing, study design, client interactions, and laboratory management.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Leadership

• Manage the Cell Biology department and provide strategic direction for scientific initiatives and laboratory growth.


• Design, review, and oversee in vitro safety, toxicity, efficacy, and mechanistic studies.


• Develop innovative study models and scientific approaches to support client requirements.


• Ensure scientific integrity, quality, and timely execution of all studies.

Study Management & Execution

• Oversee safety and efficacy studies involving cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and healthcare products.


• Direct studies evaluating skin lightening, anti-aging, hydration, irritation, wound healing, and other efficacy parameters using 2D and 3D tissue models.


• Review study protocols, experimental designs, data analyses, and final reports.


• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards.

Laboratory Operations

• Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and resource planning.


• Establish and optimize SOPs, workflows, and laboratory best practices.


• Ensure adherence to laboratory safety, quality, and documentation requirements.


• Monitor laboratory budgets, inventory, and procurement activities.


• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of scientists, research associates, and technical staff.


• Conduct performance reviews and support employee development initiatives.


• Foster a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Client & Business Development Support

• Engage with clients to understand scientific requirements and propose suitable study designs.


• Support proposal development, technical discussions, and project presentations.


• Participate in scientific meetings, conferences, and client interactions.


• Contribute to expanding the organization's service portfolio and business opportunities.


• Stay updated on advancements in cell biology, tissue engineering, toxicology, and cosmetic science.


• Drive development of new assays, models, and capabilities.


• Support scientific publications, presentations, intellectual property generation, and grant applications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.


• 6–15 years of relevant industry or research experience in cell biology, toxicology, cosmetic testing, or related fields.


• Demonstrated experience leading scientific teams and managing laboratory operations.

Required Technical Expertise

• Extensive hands‑on experience with mammalian cell culture and primary cell lines.


• Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D tissue culture models.


• Expertise in safety, toxicity, and efficacy assessment methodologies.


• Proficiency in techniques such as:


• Flow Cytometry


• ELISA


• Western Blotting


• PCR / RT-qPCR


• Cell-based Assays


• Experience in cosmetic product safety and efficacy evaluation is highly preferred.


• Understanding of GLP/GCLP principles and quality management systems is desirable.
