Job summary

Comline India is seeking an experienced CCTV Camera Technician for installation, maintenance and field service across Kolkata locations. The role includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and restoration of CCTV systems, with attention to network, power and connectivity issues.

The candidate will handle IP and analog CCTV setups, DVR/NVR, PoE switches, and related network equipment, while coordinating with site representatives and ensuring timely fault resolution.

Job description

Comline India is looking for an experienced and responsible CCTV Camera Technician to join our team for CCTV maintenance and field service work. The candidate will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair and restoration of CCTV surveillance systems at various locations.

The role involves extensive fieldwork, coordination with the technical team and timely resolution of CCTV-related faults.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and troubleshooting of CCTV cameras and surveillance systems.
• Diagnose and rectify camera, network, power and connectivity-related faults.
• Handle IP CCTV and analog CCTV systems.
• Troubleshoot DVR/NVR, PoE switches, media converters, routers and network equipment.
• Check and repair Cat6/network cables, RJ45 connectors, fiber connectivity and power connections.
• Perform camera focusing, positioning, configuration and replacement.
• Check cameras that are offline, showing no video, poor video quality or intermittent connectivity.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance of CCTV systems.
• Assist in optical fiber-related CCTV connectivity and troubleshooting.
• Use basic networking knowledge for IP addressing, connectivity testing and device configuration.
• Coordinate with supervisors, security personnel and site representatives during maintenance activities.
• Maintain proper records of site visits, faults, materials used and work completed.
• Attend emergency/breakdown calls and complete assigned work within the required time.
• Follow safety procedures while working at height, on poles, gantries and other field locations.
• Work as part of a team and travel to different CCTV locations across Kolkata.

Required Technical Skills:

• Hands‑on experience with CCTV installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of IP cameras, DVR/NVR and PoE switches.
• Basic knowledge of LAN networking and TCP/IP.
• Knowledge of Cat6 cable termination and RJ45 crimping.
• Basic understanding of optical fiber and media converters will be an advantage.
• Ability to use basic testing tools such as LAN tester, multimeter and fiber‑related testing equipment.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware, cabling, power and network faults.

• Police / Government CCTV projects
• Large residential/commercial CCTV systems

• Fiber optic CCTV connectivity
