Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling customer billing transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. The role involves processing payments, managing cash and digital transactions, maintaining billing records, and supporting store operations to ensure a seamless shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Transactions

• Process customer purchases through POS (Point of Sale) systems.
• Accurately handle cash, credit/debit card, UPI, and other digital payments.
• Generate invoices, receipts, and billing documents.
• Verify pricing, discounts, promotions, and warranties during billing.

Cash Handling

• Maintain accurate cash drawer balances.
• Perform opening and closing cash reconciliation.
• Ensure proper accounting of all transactions.
• Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager immediately.

Customer Service

• Greet customers professionally and assist with billing-related queries.
• Resolve customer concerns regarding payments, refunds, and exchanges.
• Promote loyalty programs, extended warranties, and store offers.

Compliance & Documentation

• Follow company policies and cash-handling procedures.
• Maintain transaction records and required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal controls.

Store Support

• Coordinate with sales staff for smooth customer checkout.
• Assist in store operations during peak hours.
• Support inventory and administrative activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Intermediate / Graduate in any discipline.
• Prior experience as a Cashier, Billing Executive, or Customer Service Associate preferred.
• Freshers with good communication skills may also apply.

Experience

Salary Range

₹13,000 – ₹18,000 per month (depending on experience and company policy) plus applicable incentives/benefits.

• Experience in retail stores, electronics showrooms, supermarkets, or malls is an added advantage.
