About the role

Embedded Firmware Validation and Verification for safety-critical burner control, combustion efficiency control systems, HVAC, burner controls, etc. The individual must understand system requirements, develop system test automation using C/Python, and perform unit and system testing. The candidate should have a solid background in embedded (system) software testing, device/system interaction, troubleshooting, and be involved in all aspects of system software development (concept, design, reviews, coding, validation). The ability to work independently and collaboratively with hardware, software, and QA teams locally and globally across different time zones is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Test automation using C/Python
• Firmware testing

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in automation using C/Python, capable of performing unit and system level testing
• Experience testing embedded products with serial communication protocols such as RS485, RS232, SPI, I2C, USB
• Experience testing products with wireless communication (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee), embedded servers, and mobile platforms
• Proficiency in scripting languages, preferably Python, with a good understanding of coding best practices, object handling, and error handling
• Extensive experience testing/validating embedded systems based on 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers
• Experience using hardware equipment like DMM/DRO, debuggers, and programmers as part of the test system
