Overview

As a CAM Engineer, you will be a key member of our Manufacturing Engineering Services team, responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for complex components using UG/NX. This role involves translating engineering designs into precise, efficient, and safe machining instructions for turning, milling, and mill-turn centers. Your primary impact will be on the shop floor, where well-documented and verified programs drive production quality and efficiency. You will contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing manufacturing processes, reducing costs, and enhancing part quality. You will also be involved in debugging postprocessors and documenting standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and excellence across manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Do

• Apply fundamental knowledge of geometry creation, toolpath generation and toolpath post processing for Turning, Wirecut, Milling (3-5 axes) & Millturn CNC Programming.


• Provide safe and efficient CNC programs and all supporting documentation to the shop.


• Verify NC programs are in accordance with required drawings, specifications and quality systems. Assist in documenting CNC standard operating processes and procedures.


• Provide information as required to measure the CNC process (programming hours, part cycle times, etc.).


• Create manufacturing 3D models and drawings for casting & forging components in NX, converting old 2-D drawings to 3-D models using NX.


• Assist in process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and enhance the quality of parts being produced.


• Provide input and assistance in the creation and debugging of postprocessors for a variety of machine/control configurations.


• Assist in training on CNC fundamentals and manufacturing processes for others.

What You Bring

• B.Tech/BE in Mechanical or Industrial & Production Engineering.


• 3 to 7 years of experience in UG/NX CAM programming.


• Ability to read and interpret complex machining drawings.


• Knowledge of G & M codes, cutting tools and cutting parameters.


• Experience with Vericut or other NC verification software.


• Ability to create manufacturing 3D models and drawings in NX.
