Job summary

WSP India is seeking a highway design professional with extensive CAD experience to support senior technicians in technical analysis, create base maps and plan/profile drawings for roads and drainage. You will annotate works, design signage and detours, and prepare installation slips across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Civil with 3–10 years’ infrastructure project experience, excellent English communication, and familiarity with CAD tools such as InRoads, OpenRoads,

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil engineering required.
• 3-10 years’ experience in infrastructure projects and highway/detail design.
• Experience working with diverse teams and cultures is a plus.
• English spoken and written.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsibilities

• Assisting Senior Technician in technical analysis;
• Analyse ground data and prepare base maps;
• Prepare graphic representations of a parcel of land or a portion of road (plan, profile and section);
• Annotate work to be done (barrier, border, pavement marking, etc.);
• Preparation of a highway, roadway and detour path;
• Plans and profiles, cross sections, typical sections and details
• Temporary or permanent signage design;
• Preparation of an installation slip;
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies / Skills

• The successful candidate is likely to be having 5-15 years’ of highway work experience with consultancy firm or developer, International experience or Global design centre are an asset.
• Must have strong abilities to work with CAD, Microstation and Microsoft Office; Knowledge of InRoads, Openroads, Infraworks and Civil3D will be an asset.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at given time.
• Understanding of Canadian standards and design practices are an asset

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil;

Desirable Skills

• Professional licencing within Canada is an asset;
• Solid understanding of other road design requirements (e.g. drainage / hydraulic design, environmental design / mitigation measure, engineering surveys, geotechnical investigations and design);
• Solid understanding of Ministry of Transportation, Canadian standards and design practices are an asset;
• Familiarity with Canadian regulatory environment and experience with approval processes is an asset.
