Job summary

PTC WaterTech LLP in Pune invites a Cad Design Engineer to prepare detailed drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater projects using CAD tools. Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
• Experience creating layouts, GA drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings for water/wastewater systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, tolerances, and industry standards for water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Ability to read process flow diagrams, equipment datasheets, and client specifications.
• Good collaboration with design, project, and site teams; clear communication with stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple design assignments and meet deadlines.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or related engineering; water/wastewater experience is an advantage.
• Familiarity with sustainable design principles, safety regulations, and QA practices.

Role Description

The Cad Design Engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for water and wastewater treatment projects using CAD software. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting project specifications, developing layouts for pipelines, tanks, and process equipment, and coordinating with project engineers to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role involves revising drawings based on review feedback, maintaining drawing documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support tender, execution, and commissioning activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune City.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD tools (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for 2D drafting and 3D modeling in mechanical, civil, or process engineering contexts.
• Experience creating layouts, general arrangement drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and fabrication drawings for water or wastewater systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, dimensional accuracy, tolerances, and industry standards relevant to water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including process flow diagrams, equipment datasheets, and client specifications.
• Good collaboration skills to work with design, project, and site teams, and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple design assignments and meet project deadlines.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline; experience in water/wastewater or utility projects is an advantage.
• Familiarity with sustainable design principles, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices in engineering projects is beneficial.
