Job summary

embIND Embitel Technologies (India) Private Limited is seeking a C7 Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for ECU platforms in embedded automotive environments. You will operate in resource-constrained μP environments, collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/SAFe, and implement unit tests with JUnit while establishing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.

Preferred experience includes automotive protocols (CAN, SOME/IP, UDS) and Linux user-space development;

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java development in embedded/resource-constrained environments.
• Experience with Core Java 8 and Android logging (logcat).
• Experience with JUnit and Jenkins CI/CD.
• Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies.
• Exposure to automotive protocols (UDS, CAN, SOME/IP).

We are seeking a technically proficient and detail‑oriented Java Developer with experience in embedded or resource‑constrained automotive environments. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Java‑based applications on ECU platforms, working within resource limits and following Agile/SAFe and ASPICE development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications in embedded automotive environments, especially ECU platforms.
• Work within resource‑constrained microprocessor (μP) environments to deliver efficient, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Agile/SAFe methodologies to deliver high‑quality software components.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit; set up CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Integrate and troubleshoot automotive communication protocols such as UDS, CAN, and SOME/IP.
• Contribute to Linux user‑space application development and troubleshooting.
• Work with Android lifecycle‑aware components when applicable in system‑level integration.
• Follow ASPICE‑compliant development practices.
• Support diagnostic software integration, validation, and troubleshooting activities in ECU environments where applicable.
• Utilize Atlassian toolchain (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for project and documentation management.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of embedded Java development using Core Java 8.

• Basic understanding of Linux user‑space development and debugging.
• Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodology.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CAN and SOME/IP communication protocols.
• Exposure to CANoe simulation environment.
• Diagnostic background, experience with UDS (ISO 14229), OBD‑II, or automotive diagnostic tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, Vector CANalyzer, ODX/PDX‑based toolchains).
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR Diagnostic Event Manager (Dem) or Diagnostic Communication Manager (Dcm) modules.
• Understanding of ECU flash programming and fault memory (DTC) management.
• Understanding of Android application lifecycle in embedded platforms.
• Familiarity with ASPICE‑compliant diagnostic software development practices.
