Job summary

EY in India seeks a post graduate in Finance or related field to assist on valuation engagements covering financial reporting, tax, and management planning. You'll work on intangible valuations across M&A, corporate strategy, and regulatory compliance with US GAAP guidance.

Strong modelling skills in MS Excel and familiarity with valuation software are preferred. 0-1 year experience is acceptable, with opportunities for CFA/ASA/CPA progression.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work on valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax, and management planning purposes.
• Exposure to engagements for intangible business valuations across management planning; mergers and acquisitions (M&A); financial reporting; tax and regulatory compliance; restructuring and reorganisation; and corporate strategy under US GAAP (including ASC 350, ASC 805, ASC 842, ASC 820 and other relevant guidance).
• Experience with secondary research, report writing and detailed financial modelling.
• Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided.
• Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to our as well as the client's business.
• Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with EY offices globally.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Requirements

• A post graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business with 0-1 years of related work experience in utilizing Valuation techniques and methodologies such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Income Approach, market comparable, etc. in a business valuation firm or practice or in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, financial research, national valuation firm or experience working in a corporate finance role for an organization, preferably for M&A activities.
• Exposure to financial modelling including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred.
• Preferable achievement in or significant progress towards a CFA, ASA, CPA or related certification.

Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in Valuation Techniques and Methodologies, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Financial Modelling, while maintaining strong communication and relationship-building skills in a corporate finance environment.
