Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a procurement professional to manage the buying process for a designated set of goods, applying sourcing policy and interfacing with suppliers to meet budgets and specifications.

The role emphasizes execution of standard enabling activities, ERP updates, and maintaining supplier relationships, with some autonomy within policy guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong experience in the Sourcing & Buying-Procurement level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
• Multiple Commodities buyer experience is preferable

Responsibilities

• Place and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Update ERP.
• Broadening knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline to execute functional policy/strategy; still developing functional knowledge and skills.
• Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work and collaborates with other teams.
• May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework and resolves issues within established procedures.
• For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.

• Broadening knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline to execute functional policy/strategy; still developing functional knowledge and skills.
• Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined policy/parameters.
• A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications

• This role requires 3+ years of strong experience in the Sourcing & Buying-Procurement level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
• Multiple Commodities buyer experience is preferable

Desired Characteristics

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Should be able to communicate in regional language and other languages preferably Hindi.
