Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Merchandiser with strong communication and negotiation skills to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a background in the jewelry industry and hands‑on experience in vendor coordination, production follow‑ups, and sample development. Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and working with formulas is essential. The role demands adaptability, a learning mindset, and a willingness to travel as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage vendor relationships, sourcing, and negotiations (costing, MOQs, lead time, payment terms)
- Identify and onboard new vendors.
- Coordinate sampling & product development with design and vendors, track approvals
- Handle complete order lifecycle from PO to production, QC, and final dispatch
- Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time deliveries
- Conduct regular follow-ups with vendors to avoid delays and resolve issues proactively
- Ensure quality standards are maintained across samples and bulk production
- Maintain and update trackers for orders, sampling, inventory, and vendor performance
- Use Excel/Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, Pivot, formulas) for reporting and analysis
- Coordinate with internal teams (design, QC, Ecom, warehouse) for smooth execution
- Support inventory planning and replenishment to avoid stock‑outs
- Assist in costing analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimization
- Travel for vendor visits, production checks, and market research
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field
- 3-6 years of experience in merchandising (preferably in jewelry or accessories)
- Proven experience in vendor handling, production follow‑ups, and sampling
- Strong command over MS Excel and Google Sheets (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and adaptable
- Comfortable with frequent travel
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
