Job summary

Lam Research in Bangalore is seeking a Buyer/Planner 3 to help plan, schedule, and monitor material movement through the production cycle. You will ensure timely, cost-effective purchases and maintain planned component consumption using EOQ.

You’ll develop BOMs, gather quotations, and monitor cost, schedule, and scope to sustain Lam’s competitive edge. The role requires 5+ years of related experience, BE/B Tech, and familiarity with SAP MM and MS Office.

Qualifications

• BE/ B Tech with minimum of 5+ years of related experience.
• MS Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Knowledge in SAP MM Module.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and analysing Engineering Request Forms (ERFs).
• Coordinating purchasing activities with Engineering to acquire materials on time.
• Analysing sourcing matrices and engineering specifications.
• Issuing RFQs, processing change orders, and creating purchase orders.
• Working in a fast-paced NPI environment with aggressive deadlines.
• Recommending alternative sourcing when required to meet engineering need dates.
• Collaborating with suppliers, Engineering, Supply Business Managers, QA, Shipping, Receiving, and Accounting to resolve issues.
• Requiring SAP and NPI experience; semiconductor commodity experience is preferred.

The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as a Buyer/Planner, you play a crucial role in planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through the production cycle. Your expertise ensures timely and cost-effective material purchases and maintaining consumption of components at planned levels, through Just in Time purchases and use of Economic Order Quantities (EOQ). You create and maintain bills of materials while upholding materials standards. You'll develop specifications for new contract orders and gather quotations. By monitoring cost, schedule, and scope, you support high quality and value to maintain Lam's competitive edge.
