Job summary

Siemens Energy in India is hiring a Buyer to drive end-to-end procurement, convert requisitions into purchase orders, and maintain SAP records with strict adherence to procurement guidelines.

You will collaborate with internal customers, suppliers, and commodity managers to support supplier qualification, development, performance evaluation, and negotiations aimed at cost savings.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Buyer, you will work closely with internal customers, suppliers, commodity managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient sourcing and procurement of goods and services. You will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, supporting supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes and ERP systems.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Manage the end-to-end purchase order process, including converting requisitions into purchase orders, maintaining SAP records, and ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines.
• Execute sourcing activities, support commodity strategies, issue RFQs, evaluate supplier responses, and provide sourcing recommendations.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support supplier qualification, development, performance evaluation, and issue resolution.
• Conduct negotiations for medium-value purchasing requirements to achieve cost savings and commercial benefits.
• Support procurement process improvements, ERP compliance, supplier management initiatives, and key business programs.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant procurement or sourcing experience.
• Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain functions within an engineering, manufacturing, or operations environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing supplier interactions.
• Good understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, quality requirements, and operational practices.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP and e‑Procurement systems.
• Knowledge of Energy, Oil & Gas, or industrial industry standards is desirable.
• Commercial awareness with exposure to sourcing, negotiations, and contract‑related activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast‑paced, and global business environment.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, customers, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
