Job summary

ACDI - Karnataka is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to build analytics solutions for Japan Payment products. You will partner with product, operations, and marketing to deliver end-to-end metrics and data-driven insights.

The role requires SQL, data visualization, and scripting experience; you will work with Redshift, Oracle, Python or R on large data sets in a fast-paced global team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years analyzing data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, or similar.
• Experience with one or more BI visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, PowerBI) and statistics methods.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Java, or R).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, data analytics, data science, CS or related field.
• Experience operating large-scale data extraction, ingestion, and processing systems.

• Interfacing with business customers to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions.
• Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using SQL and scripting for modeling.
• Evolve organization-wide self-service platforms.
• Build metrics to analyze inputs to forecasting systems.

Amazon Payment team creates and manages a global portfolio of products, including co-branded credit cards, installment financing, third party redemptions, and financial services marketplaces. Within this team we are looking for a BIE specifically for supporting Japan Payment Products.

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer with broad technical skills to build analytic and reporting capabilities to deliver on strategic analytical/reporting projects, define/produce end-to-end metrics that inform product, business, and marketing decisions and identify new growth opportunities through data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate relishes working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts, and, above all else, is passionate about data and analytics. The candidate is an expert with business intelligence tools and passionately partners with the business to identify strategic opportunities where data-backed insights drive value creation. An effective communicator, the candidate crisply translates analysis result into executive-facing business terms. The candidate works aptly with internal and external teams to push the projects across the finishing line. The candidate is a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big (while paying careful attention to detail), and enjoys working in a fast-paced and global team.

Key job responsibilities

Core Responsibilities Includes But Not Restricted To

• Interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions to drive insights and inform product, operations, and marketing decisions.
• Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL (Redshift, Oracle) and ability to use a programming and/or scripting language to process data for modeling
• Evolve organization wide Self-Service platforms
• Building metrics to analyze key inputs to forecasting systems
• Leading complex analytical deep dives (Segmentation, A/B testing)
• Recognizing and adopting best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
• Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
• Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
• Bachelor's degree or above in statistics, business analytics, data analytics, data science, computer science or related field

• Experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets, or experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree
• Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
• Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
• Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
• Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing data sets from multiple sources
• Knowledge of BI analytics, reporting or visualization tools like Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Cognos or other third party tools
• Experience working with redshift, Cradle or other AWS tools is a plus Hands On experience with Python, R is a plus
