Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join the Regulatory Intelligence, Safety & Compliance Global Data & Analytics team. The role emphasizes building automated reports, dashboards, and self-service analytics to empower stakeholders and mitigate risk.

You will mine data, develop insights, and partner with Legal, Program, and Tech teams to drive program success. The role requires strong SQL, Python, and BI tool experience (Tableau/Quicksight), plus data modeling and ETL

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • 2+ years of Tableau Desktop, Quicksight or other data visualization software experience
  • Bachelor's degree or above in related fields or 2+ years of Amazon RME Full Time Exempt experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling

  • Designing and executing analytical projects using statistical analysis
  • Build self-service solutions that empower stakeholders to access and analyze data independently.

We are looking for a talented business analyst to join the Regulatory Intelligence, Safety & Compliance [RISC] Global Data & Analytics [GDA] team.

This role will be a key member of the Analytics team, responsible for driving analysis and insights to help make meaningful business decisions. As a BIE, you will focus on improving the success within business functions by analyzing data, discovering and solving real world problems, building metrics and business cases to improve customer experience, and providing timely data support for escalations to mitigate risk. We are focused on your success and want to build future leaders within Amazon. A key component of the role is to identify process and system improvement opportunities by developing the right metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teams. In addition, you will design and develop automated reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions. Lastly, you will enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • 2+ years of Tableau Desktop, Quicksight or other relevant data visualization software experience
  • Bachelor's degree or above in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or above in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
