American Express Global Business Travel in India is seeking a BI Analyst to join the Global Business Partnerships team. You will build ad hoc reports, dashboards and enterprise BI solutions to support decision making across suppliers and business units.

You will design, develop, and maintain highly complex database models, manage the data infrastructure, and deliver insights to stakeholders with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as Database Developer/SQL Server Developer/Data Analyst/BI Developer.
• Proficient in SQL queries, data manipulation and cleansing.
• ETL and data integration knowledge across sources.
• Advanced Excel and Access skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP, macros, VBA).
• Power BI development experience.
• Knowledge of ML and AI concepts.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Strong communication and ability to work under pressure.
• Travel industry knowledge.

Overview of the Department:

This role sits within the Global Business Partnerships (GBP) team which manages relationships with core suppliers across airlines, hotels, rail, and car rental. As our hotel business grows and data is a key strategic pillar, this role will play an active part in both defining and delivering future data needs for GBP.

What You’ll Do

• We are looking for the right candidate who has a good understanding of business analytics, data reporting, and business intelligence tools. They will build ad hoc reports, transaction volume reports, and monthly dashboards with important metrics.

• Additionally, the BI Analyst will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of business intelligence solutions for enterprise stakeholders across multiple business units.

• A BI Analyst will design, develop, implement, and maintain highly complex database models, and will also have a keen understanding of general business processes and how to communicate analytical insights to a lay audience.

• Responsible for managing the data infrastructure, as well as producing reports and insights into the performance of our suppliers

What We’re Looking For

• Experience as Database Developer/SQL Server Developer / Data Analyst / Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst.

• Proficient in SQL query writing, data manipulation, and data cleansing (e.g. queries, triggers, views, stored procedures).

• Practical knowledge of how to extract, transform, load, and coordinate data from different sources into a reliable and easy-to-use enterprise data set.

• Extensive practical knowledge in Microsoft Excel, and Access including formulas and functions such as: pivot tables, reference indexing, VLOOKUP, IF statements, macros, and VBA.

• Experience in BI development using Microsoft Power BI.

• Knowledge of Machine Learning and General AI concepts.

• High level of attention to details (data accuracy).

• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work against tight deadlines with colleagues across the world.

• Drive results and work with little supervision.

• Knowledge of travel industry.

Educational requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to functional work and 5+ years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of comparable work experience and education.

• Typically holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, economics, information systems, or business administration.
