Job summary

Standard Chartered India in Chennai seeks a Business Clients Acquisition Executive to build and manage high-value client relationships, focusing on new acquisitions and needs-based selling across assets, liabilities, insurance and investments. You will deepen client relationships by cross-selling products, ensuring accurate applications and documentation, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong communication, drive, and willingness to engage with customers on location.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or postgraduate with consistent academic record.
  • Extensive sales experience (2–5 years) in banking is preferred.
  • Sales-focused and highly target oriented.
  • Willingness to go out and meet new customers.
  • Competitive awareness and benchmarking.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & relationship-building skills.
  • Banking product knowledge and MI skills.

It will also involving deepening these relationships by cross-selling various product

  • Conduct CDD, MLP & TCF diligently
  • Zero tolerance – Fraud, Mis-selling
  • Attend training, acquire knowledge and apply to job function
  • Adhere to all policies, guidelines and procedures, comply with local regulatory requirements
  • To comply with all applicable money laundering prevention procedures and, in particular, report any suspicious activity to the Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer and line manager
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, elevate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent)
  • Must be a graduate. MBA’s would be an advantage
  • Candidates having Sales experience of at-least 1 year in the Retail Banking Industry; especially SB Lap, BIL, BWC, Insurance and Current Accounts would be preferred
  • Candidate having AMFI, IRDA (and other relevant certification) certification will be preferred
  • Good knowledge of the selected market and customer segments would be an advantage
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes r Strong inter-personal skills, which encourages and promotes enthusiasm and team spirit
