Job summary

Navsan is seeking a Business Analyst in the Data & Analytics domain to translate business needs into actionable data requirements and reporting specifications. You will work with stakeholders and technical teams across BI, data governance and ERP/CRM systems, validating dashboards, facilitating workshops, and supporting UAT to ensure quality and alignment with enterprise architecture.

Experience with SQL, data warehousing concepts, Azure DevOps/Jira for backlog management, and analytics

Overall Responsibility:

The Business Analyst – Data & Analytics acts as the key link between business stakeholders and the Data & Analytics team, ensuring that business requirements are translated into clear, actionable data and reporting requirements.

Working across multiple business functions, the role is responsible for understanding business processes, identifying opportunities to improve decision making through data, documenting requirements, and supporting the successful delivery of analytics, dashboards, reporting and data solutions.

The role also works closely with Business Systems Specialists and application owners to understand source systems, business processes, data structures and operational impacts, ensuring solutions are technically feasible and aligned with enterprise architecture and governance standards.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Engagement

• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across all business functions.
• Translate business problems into clear analytical and reporting requirements.
• Act as the trusted advisor between business users and technical delivery teams.

Requirements Gathering

• Capture, document and validate business requirements.
• Produce high-quality Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications and user stories where appropriate.
• Ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined before development begins.

Data & Analytics Delivery

• Work alongside Data Engineers, BI Developers and Data Architects throughout project delivery.
• Validate that delivered dashboards and reports meet agreed business requirements.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Assist with backlog refinement and prioritisation.

Business Systems Collaboration

• Work closely with Business Systems Specialists, Product Owners and System Administrators. Develop an understanding of operational systems including their processes, workflows and data structures.
• Identify where required data resides across business applications.
• Understand upstream and downstream system dependencies.
• Support data mapping exercises between source systems and analytics platforms.
• Help resolve data quality or process issues through collaboration with system owners.

Stakeholder Management

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage stakeholder expectations throughout delivery.
• Escalate risks, issues and dependencies where appropriate.
