Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst to unlock insights from data and shape banking policies and practices within the credit card domain.

You will interpret complex datasets, identify opportunities, and deliver data-driven recommendations to guide decisions across teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners, build a solid understanding of industry standards, and deliver routine and ad-hoc analytics while safeguarding client and firm assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/University degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting in a banking/credit card context is preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to present insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Role Summary

The Business Analyst is a developing professional role, focused on leveraging data to generate critical business insights. This role involves interpreting complex data sets to identify opportunities, define business challenges within the credit card landscape, and formulate data-driven recommendations that shape policies and practices. The analyst will collaborate across teams, developing a strong understanding of industry standards and how their work contributes to broader business objectives. Guided by precedents and acquired technical experience, they will make evaluative judgments and resolve issues through the analysis of factual information. This position has a direct impact on business outcomes through the quality and accuracy of the insights and services provided.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full data lifecycle, including, processing, analysis, quality assurance, and insights reporting.
• Deliver routine and ad-hoc analytical outputs, continuously developing a broader understanding of the business context.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define requirements for data analysis and reporting.
• Assist in the implementation of data-driven solutions and business strategies.
• Perform complex and varied assignments, demonstrating technical expertise and specialized functional knowledge.
• Appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations while upholding the firm's ethical standards and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in data analysis, preferably with a focus on business or financial analytics.
• Proficiency in analytical tools such as SAS, Python, and SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hive, Impala, PySpark) is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Generative AI (GenAI) tools and their application in data analysis is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to engage resources outside of direct control to achieve objectives.
• Experience in the banking or credit card industry is encouraged.

Education:

• Bachelor's/University degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or equivalent experience.
