Business Analyst
Principal Responsibilities
- The job is a major point of contact with the business and IT. Business Analyst will work independently and should have a high level of flexibility to consult with the business at all levels. They will need to have the ability to work closely with and build good relationships with all delivery partners and with Global Functions. The role involves engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously, taking a lead analyst role in larger projects, and directing all analyst activity.
- Employ an improvement mindset to identify and define issues or problems that are less obvious; actively participate in brainstorming meetings where problems are discussed and/or resolved.
- Bring structure and order to undefined problems and large‑scale problems, making them easier to address and solve. Use systemic thinking and creativity to devise solution options, evaluate relative costs, benefits and obstacles before implementation, and articulate or translate complex information in a clear, meaningful, and structured way for the audience.
- Understand the Group’s priorities, business drivers, competitors and competitive strategy to help drive strategically aligned solutions, considering risk/reward aspects.
- Question small‑scale business decisions that do not demonstrate alignment to the Group’s commercial strategy. Anticipate issues and risks, act quickly to mitigate them, handle unforeseen roadblocks swiftly and effectively, and identify potential risks to service or performance proactively to manage quality issues early.
- Often act as an expert across multiple projects or programmes simultaneously, guiding teams on requirements gathering, design, change or implementation approaches. May conduct one‑off business research and analysis tasks related to programme or project scope.
- Define requirements management, design solutions and structures based on business requirements. Identify impact areas on the target operating model and design activities to mitigate impact. Challenge business intent constructively. Manage the change audience with communications, training and development. Support programme management with impact assessment for change requests.
- Promote pace and energy within the team, understand differences between people as opportunities to learn from varied viewpoints, support others’ design efforts when relevant, and operate collaboratively. Build professional relationships and networks with people in or outside the team as part of day‑to‑day work.
Requirements
- Strong business analysis, requirements gathering and design techniques skills. Experience with change management and implementation management approaches, and basic business reengineering knowledge.
- Relevant experience in a business analysis role on complex projects across countries or regions, with overall financial services industry knowledge and specific functional expertise. Experience in business analysis, solution design, change & implementation or consulting activities.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to work independently and proactively. Experience running meetings over video or teleconference, and knowledge of MS Office and business analysis tools.
- Experience with change adaptation processes, planning and implementing change interventions to enable smooth transitions and embed change into business as usual, covering requirements gathering, communications and final user training.
- Experience with transformation changes Design & Initiation (D&I) is an advantage. Experience gathering requirements and conducting design activities for projects that combine business, operations and technology focuses.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Proven ability to work across regions and with senior stakeholders and business sponsors. Demonstrated impact‑ful communication, change and implementation management, stakeholder management, process re‑engineering and consultancy.
