Job summary

Motherson Technology Services Limited is seeking an experienced automotive embedded software engineer to lead bootloader development and AUTOSAR integration. You will work on Flash Bootloader (FBL) and ECU security features, including Secure Boot/Flashing and HSM integration, across CAN-FD and Automotive Ethernet environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development and integration of Flash Bootloader (FBL) software.
• Develop and configure bootloader solutions using ETAS RTA-FBL or similar AUTOSAR-compliant stacks.
• Support ECU flashing, programming, and bootloader-related functionality.
• Implement and integrate ECU security mechanisms such as Secure Boot and Secure Flashing.
• Configure and integrate Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
• Design and implement UDS (ISO 14229-1) diagnostic services.
• Work with AUTOSAR diagnostic stacks and application-layer diagnostic functionality.
• Support communication over CAN-FD and Automotive Ethernet.
• Configure and integrate MCAL layers for microcontrollers such as NXP S32K3xx and Renesas RH850.
• Develop and integrate low-level drivers and interfaces.
• Work with transceivers such as TCAN1145 and SBCs through SPI.
• Perform AUTOSAR ECU configuration and integration activities.
• Work with COM stack, Memory stack, and Diagnostic Communication Manager (DCM).
• Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.

• Interact with OEM customers for requirement clarification.
• Support field issue investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Communicate technical status, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.

Role & responsibilities

Bootloader Development

• Lead the end-to-end development and integration of Flash Bootloader (FBL)software.
• Develop and configure bootloader solutions using ETAS RTA-FBLor similar AUTOSAR-compliant stacks.
• Support ECU flashing, programming, and bootloader-related functionality.

Security Integration

• Implement and integrate ECU security mechanisms such as Secure Boot and Secure Flashing.
• Configure and integrate Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
• Ensure protection of ECU software and firmware against unauthorized access and tampering.

Diagnostics & Communication

• Design and implement UDS (ISO 14229-1)diagnostic services.
• Work with AUTOSAR diagnostic stacks and application-layer diagnostic functionality.
• Support communication over CAN-FD and Automotive Ethernet.
• Troubleshoot diagnostic and communication issues.

AUTOSAR & Platform Integration

• Configure and integrate MCAL layersfor microcontrollers such as NXP S32K3xx and Renesas RH850.
• Develop and integrate low-level drivers and interfaces.
• Work with transceivers such as TCAN1145and SBCs through SPI.
• Perform AUTOSAR ECU configuration and integration activities.

Technical Leadership

• Support project execution and delivery of ASPICE-compliant software.
• Participate in requirement clarification and technical reviews.

Validation & Debugging

• Perform system-level debugging and issue analysis using Lauterbach TRACE32, GHS, Renesas E1/E2, and GDB.
• Use Vector CANoe/CANalyzerfor ECU communication and protocol validation.
• Perform root-cause analysis of software and field issues.
• Support T32 scripting and debugging automation.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Interact with project teams and OEM customersfor requirement clarification.
• Support field issue investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Communicate technical status, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in Automotive Embedded Software Development.
• Strong proficiency in C programmingwith MISRAcompliance.
• Hands-on experience in Bootloader / Flash Bootloader (FBL) development.
• Strong knowledge of UDS / ISO 14229-1.
• Good knowledge of AUTOSAR Classicand BSW.
• Good understanding of COM Stack, Memory Stack, and DCM.
• Experience with MCAL and ECU configuration.
• Good understanding of microcontroller architecture.
• Strong embedded fundamentals and low-level software development knowledge.
• Hands-on knowledge of CAN / CAN-FD, I2C, SPI, UART.
• Knowledge of microcontroller peripherals such as ADC, PWM, DAC, and DIO.
• Hands-on debugging experience with Lauterbach TRACE32/T32, GDB, Renesas E1/E2, or similar tools.
• Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR modeling and ECU configuration.
