Job description

Job Overview

The QNX Board Support Package (BSP) Team is seeking Senior Driver Developers to design and implement next‑generation computing platforms in automotive and other embedded verticals. You will develop software drivers to support advanced hardware peripherals on cutting‑edge platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement drivers for a variety of hardware peripherals.
• Adapt existing drivers for embedded platforms.
• Enhance and tune existing software for performance.
• Develop new driver architectures to support future hardware advancements.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure software meets safety specifications.

Technical Skills

• Bootloader and board bring‑up skills (e.g., U-boot, DRAM controller initialization, system clock configuration, GPIO & pin‑mux).
• Serial driver development (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, input devices, touch controllers).
• Storage device driver development (block storage devices, UFS, SD/eMMC, AHCI/SATA, NAND/NOR flash).
• High‑speed communication busses (PCIe, USB).
• Drivers for wired and wireless networking interfaces.
• Power management, DVFS, thermal management.
• Security hardware and firmware (TPM, TrustZone).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in driver development.
• In‑depth knowledge of C and Assembly.
• Hands‑on development with embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VxWorks).
• Experience with major processor architectures (ARM, x86, PPC).
• Experience following safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508) or military standards is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Work Hours

Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
