Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Equipment Management & Maintenance: Install, calibrate, test, and perform routine and preventive maintenance on critical machinery like X-ray machines, MRI scanners, patient monitors, and ventilators. [1, 2, 3]


• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, or software malfunctions in medical devices to minimize downtime in emergency rooms and operating theatres. [1, 2]


• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce local and international health standards (such as ISO or FDA guidelines) and investigate equipment-related incidents to protect patients and staff. [1, 2, 3]


• Procurement & Asset Planning: Evaluate, recommend, and help purchase new medical technology by analyzing cost-effectiveness, clinical needs, and return on investment. [1, 2, 3]


• Staff Training: Train doctors, nurses, and technicians on how to operate medical devices properly to prevent user error and extend equipment life. [1, 2, 3]
