Job summary

WSP India is seeking an experienced BIM modeller in the Structures domain to join our Water & Wastewater team. The role involves coordinating with engineers and delivering CAD/BIM drawings for water infrastructure projects from India.

You will work with CAD/BIM technicians and liaise with teams in Canada on multidisciplinary projects. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of BIM REVIT architecture/structure experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, and strong teamwork skills to

• Diploma or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–10 years BIM REVIT Architecture/structure/buildings experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT; MicroStation Connect Edition 2D.
• Experience producing and checking As Built 2D drawings and 3D modelling.
• Able to work in a multidisciplinary, international project environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic CAD and REVIT design tasks as directed by engineers.
• Draft for a particular discipline and check drawings for quality and accuracy.
• Generate sections, schedules, and schematics from GA drawings.
• Convert drawings to DGN/DWG/PDF as required and file properly.
• Provide regular work status updates to line manager and ensure safety.
• Coordinate with BIM team and attend project meetings.

WSP is currently seeking a passionate BIM modeller in Structures domain to join our Water & Wastewater team. This position will be responsible for working on Water & Wastewater projects, conveyance systems for gravity and pressure mains, treatment plants, Pump stations and Pipelines, etc.

The ideal candidate should also have familiarity and understanding of other disciplines, such as Civil, and MEP systems and how the various disciplines relate to one another in a multidisciplinary project.

The candidate will be required to coordinate with Engineers in respective areas as necessary, communicate effectively with the team in Canada and work independently/in a team of other CAD/BIM technicians to deliver work from India.

Responsible for basic CAD and REVIT (BIM) design tasks as directed by the Engineer.

Responsible for all drafting for a particular discipline.

Review and monitor the production of drawings to maintain quality and accuracy.

Creation and editing of drawings & sketches in compliance with WSP BIM/CAD Standards, detailing practices and agreed timescales.

Completion of drafting tasks received from Engineers and BIM Coordinator.

Generate sections / schedules / schematics from general arrangement drawings.

Ensure drawings are issued and filed in an appropriate manner.

Conversion of drawings to other formats such as DGN, DWG & PDF if required.

Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager.

Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.

Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in relevant technical field.

Coordinate, support and contribute to technical capabilities of the BIM team as a whole.

Attend team and project meetings as required.

Contribute to the delivery of the business unit strategy.

Support the companies approach to sustainability.

Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance service to clients.

Lead by example and ensure QMS compliance across team.

Key Competencies / Skills:

Mandatory Skills

Diploma or Degree Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

5 to 10 years of experience in BIM REVIT Architecture/ structure/buildings

High level of proficiency with AutoCAD REVIT

Proficiency in Microstation Connect Edition 2D packages.

Experience in producing and checking As Built 2D drawings and 3D modelling.

Ability to build strong working relationships.

Ability to work well in a team environment as well as being a self-starter able to work unsupervised.

Desired Skills

Knowledge of MicroStation and Civil 3D would be advantageous

Experience of having worked in international projects – Canada experience is preferred.

Diploma or Degree Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
