WSP is currently seeking a passionate BIM modeller in the Structures domain to join our Water & Wastewater team. The role focuses on Water & Wastewater projects, including conveyance systems for gravity and pressure mains, treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure.
The candidate will coordinate with engineers in respective areas, communicate effectively with the team in Canada, and work independently or as part of a CAD/BIM technician team delivering work from India. Familiarity with other disciplines such as Civil and MEP systems and how they interrelate in multidisciplinary projects is required.
Responsibilities
- Basic CAD and Revit (BIM) design tasks as directed by the Engineer.
- All drafting for a particular discipline.
- Review and monitor the production of drawings to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Create and edit drawings & sketches in compliance with WSP BIM/CAD Standards, detailing practices and agreed timescales.
- Complete drafting tasks received from Engineers and BIM Coordinator.
- Generate sections, schedules, and schematics from general arrangement drawings.
- Ensure drawings are issued and filed appropriately.
- Convert drawings to other formats such as DGN, DWG and PDF if required.
- Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to line manager.
- Embed Health & Safety into all work practices in line with company policies.
- Develop expertise and stay up‑to‑date with developments in the technical field.
- Coordinate, support and contribute to the technical capabilities of the BIM team.
- Attend team and project meetings as required.
- Contribute to the delivery of the business unit strategy.
- Support the company’s approach to sustainability.
- Identify improvements to enhance service to clients.
- Lead by example and ensure QMS compliance across the team.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in BIM Revit architecture/structure/buildings.
- High proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Proficiency in MicroStation Connect Edition 2D packages.
- Experience producing and checking As‑Built 2D drawings and 3D modelling.
- Strong working relationships and ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
- Energetic, self‑starter who takes ownership of work.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of MicroStation and Civil 3D.
- Experience working on international projects – Canadian experience preferred.
