Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Technical Architect to support design development within an engineering consultancy. You will lead design aspects, coordinate team members and contribute to DfMA projects with a focus on platform approaches.

The role requires Revit experience and collaboration with MMC and sustainability teams. Ideal candidates hold a B.Arch or architectural technology background, with English fluency and professional institute membership (RIBA/CIAT) preferred.

Qualifications

Job Description

This role is to work as part of an engineering consultancy design team in India. A Qualified Architect who supports the technical design of construction projects in a range of sectors including development of the project design, production of presentation drawings and sketches. The Architect also assists in solving design complexities. The Technical Architect is responsible for leading specific aspects of the project and project team to assist in the overall effort of completing the various phases of the project. The Architect reports to the Project Lead, or other more senior team leaders.

Responsibilities

• The role sits within WSP’s digital innovation team who are working on a range of groundbreaking projects using new solutions to transform the designing and making of buildings
• The role involves working on an exciting range of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) projects defining new solutions around platform approaches across a number of sectors
• The successful candidate will help contribute to subassembly strategies including libraries of subassemblies, using construction and manufacturing software such as Revit and Inventor, working in conjunction with our client’s and their supply chain partners
• The role requires collaborating with a broad range of WSP engineers and specialists including the MMC and sustainability teams

• You will work on projects geared to DfMA at a programme level where PLM’s and configurators will be used to manage content

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

• An architectural or architectural technology degree
• Membership of a Professional Institute – RIBA / CIAT
• Experience delivering complex technical solutions across a wide range of sectors and coordinating offsite manufacturing solutions
• An understanding of different technologies and how to exploit these to transform how buildings are delivered
• A passion for developing next generation construction solutions using manufacturing technologies such as Inventor (Inventor experience is preferred but not essential)

Qualifications

• Education - B.Arch/Structures.
• Strong technical design knowledge / skills in UK construction methodology.
• Experience of working as part of an architectural design team.
• Excellent conceptual, verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English (oral and written) required.
