Job summary

Egis Group is seeking a skilled BIM Designer (Wet Utilities/Drainage) to join our infrastructure team in Chennai. You will create and manage BIM models using Civil 3D and Navisworks, focusing on wet utilities for large-scale projects.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and adherence to BIM standards are essential. You will develop 3D models, perform clash detection, and generate take-offs while supporting BIM workflows and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
• At least 5+ years of BIM (Wet Utilities/Drainage) for infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in Civil 3D, Navisworks, and Revit.
• Strong 3D modelling and visualization skills.
• Knowledge of infrastructure design principles and construction processes.
• Familiarity with CAD and 2D drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage wet utilities design drawings and Civil 3D BIM models for infrastructure projects.
• Handle Civil 3D pipe networks (gravity and pressure) for wet utilities deliverables.
• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate design elements into BIM models.
• Ensure BIM models meet project requirements, standards and best practices.
• Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts in BIM environment.
• Generate quantity take-offs and cost estimates from BIM models.
• Support BIM workflows and standards development and implementation.
• Provide technical guidance to team members on BIM issues and trends.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled BIM Designer (Wet Utilities/Drainage) specializing in Infrastructure to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing wet utilities design drawing & Civil 3D BIM Models for various infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient design processes and high-quality deliverables.

• Proficient enough in handling Civil 3D (Pipe networks- Gravity & Pressure Networks) for Wet utilities related deliverables
• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for infrastructure projects using industry-standard software
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate various design elements into cohesive BIM models
• Ensure BIM models comply with project requirements, standards, and best practices
• Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts within the BIM environment
• Generate accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates from BIM models
• Assist in the development and implementation of BIM workflows and standards
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members on BIM-related issues
• Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies and industry trends

What do we need from you

• Bachelor's/ Diploma degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in BIM(Wet Utilities/Drainage) for infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in BIMsoftware such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Navisworks andRevit
• Strong 3D modelling and visualization skills
• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure design principles and construction processes
• Familiarity with CAD software and ability to work with 2D drawings
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• BIM certification (e.g., Autodesk certifications) preferred
• Demonstrated experience in applying BIM standards and best practices
• Familiar withinfrastructure projects in Middle East region
