Job summary

Ramboll India seeks a BIM Designer, Electrical - Aviation, to model MEP components for airport projects and coordinate multidisciplinary design. You will work within Ramboll's Aviation team to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient airfield lighting systems aligned with ICAO and local standards.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience in large design projects, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and related BIM tools, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in design projects, preferably EPC.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, InfraWorks, NavisWorks.
• Knowledge of shared project software (Filery/ProjectWise/ACC/Revitzo/Aconex/Chaos/Server).
• Strong communication skills and professional English.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design solutions for airport projects per requirements.
• Lead modelling of MEP components including airside, landside infra and ancillary buildings.
• Prepare digital requirements wrt MEP components and follow BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Quality assure digital deliverables and drive project information management.
• Coordinate with project managers and control information exchange and deliverables.

We invite you to bring your competence as BIM Designer who has the capability to undertake modelling of MEP components of buildings and infrastructure components in an airport environment. The role requires undertaken multidisciplinary coordination for the overall project success. To succeed in this role, you must have Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in engineering from an institute of repute with 5 to 10 years of professional experience Are you our new Designer-BIM, Electrical - Aviation?

As our new Designer BIM Aviation, you will be part of a committed, performance driven team within Ramboll India. The successful candidate will contribute to safe, compliant, and operationally efficient airfield lighting solutions aligned with ICAO and local regulatory requirements.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

Technical Design & BIM Modelling

• Providing electrical design solutions for airport projects as per the requirements
• Lead and deliver modelling of MEP components , including airside, landside infra and ancillary buildings
• Prepare Project’s digital requirements wrt MEP components
• Work according to our Digital Delivery Plan (BIM Execution Plan).
• Quality-assuring our digital deliverables.
• Assisting the BIM Manager in driving the project forward with a focus on efficient information management.
• Managing the BIM aspects of the project, including the development and execution of BIM strategies and workflows wrt MEP components.
• Assist model integration and clash resolution. Conducting quality checks and reviewing drawings to maintain precision, compliance, and adherence to project standards.
• Responsible for the project's digital and data/metadata requirements, including project and client data and CAD needs for MEP components.
• Collaborate with project managers and control the exchange of information and deliverables on issues related to digital design.

Client & Business Support

• Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and design reviews
• Communicating with Clients and other stakeholders for understanding technical requirements
• Willing to collaborate and contribute to Business development activities including providing inputs for bid and tenders

Qualifications

• BE/B. Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering degree in Engineering from an institute of repute or equivalent.
• Experience required 5-10 Years.
• Should have experience in medium to large design projects preferably EPC projects.
• Should have proficiency in one or more software such as AutoCAD , Revit, Infraworks NavisWorks.
• Should have Knowledge in shared project software e.g., Filery/Projectwise/ Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/Revitzo/Aconex/Chaos/Server/Folder structure/Chaos Desktop and Client DMS.
• Should have previous experience of data coordination for complex projects.
• In addition to technical / functional acumen, candidate should have good communication skills and should be able to present their work.
• Should be enthusiastic, willing to learn and engage and should coordinate with other team members and the project manager for timely delivery of project.
• Professional English language skills (written and verbal).
• Good analytical skills and problem-solving techniques
