Job summary

EXL in Gurugram, Haryana, India seeks a Power BI/SSRS specialist to design and optimize interactive reports and dashboards. You will craft complex DAX measures and manage data refresh with gateways, while implementing Row Level Security and publishing content to Power BI Service.

You will connect to SQL Server, Excel, and APIs, develop SQL queries and SSIS-based ETL, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver insights from diverse source systems.

Qualifications

• Experience designing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Strong DAX skills for complex measures and calculations.
• Experience with data refresh, gateways, and row-level security.
• Proficient with SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
• Experience with SSRS/Report Builder is a plus.
• Familiarity with SSAS MDX for OLAP use cases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Job description

• Designing interactive reports and dashboards using PowerBI or leverage SSRS or Report Builder
• Writing complex DAX expressions for custom measures and calculations
• Configuring scheduled data refresh and Power BI Gateways, Implementing Row Level Security
• Publishing and sharing content through Power BI Service
• Connecting to various data sources (SQL Server, Excel, APIs, etc.)
• Data extraction from relational databases and external sources
• Create, modify and test various SQL queries, stored procedures and views for obtaining data from diverse source systems and platforms
• Design and develop new SQL/SSIS code as part of an ETL process to support report development on PowerBI
• Support multi-dimensional cube development using MDX in SSAS for select use cases or run existing assets
• Develop stored procedures functions using T-SQL/SQL to automate report refresh or data views
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate with others, including situations where you may disagree with people
