Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru seeks a Senior BI Engineer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau, and to build semantic models and data sources for reliable business reporting.

You will implement advanced DAX measures, manage data preparation with Power Query, optimize dashboard performance, ensure data quality, and collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to drive data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, Data Analytics, or a related role.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Strong experience developing reports, dashboards, and scorecards in Power BI.
Hands-on experience with data modeling, relationships, star schemas, and semantic models.
Proficiency in DAX, including calculated measures, time intelligence, and performance optimization.
Experience with Power Query (M) for data transformation and preparation.
Knowledge of Power BI Service features including workspaces, deployment pipelines, Row-Level Security (RLS), and scheduled refreshes.
Experience implementing self-service reporting solutions and reusable datasets.
Experience building interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau.
Understanding of Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud and published data sources.
Ability to optimize dashboard performance and user experience.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, Power Pivot, Power Query, advanced formulas, and functions.
Experience with data reconciliation, validation, trend analysis, variance analysis, root-cause analysis, and ad-hoc reporting.
Expertise in data visualization best practices and dashboard design principles.
Experience translating business requirements into actionable insights and analytics solutions.
Knowledge of data profiling, data quality assessment, and data validation techniques.
Strong understanding of storytelling with data and executive-level reporting.
Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, fact and dimension design, enterprise data warehouses, analytics data marts, star schemas, ETL/ELT concepts, and data integration processes.
Experience with Snowflake and cloud-based analytics platforms is a plus
Exposure to Sigma Computing or other self-service analytics tools is a plus
Knowledge of insurance domain concepts is a plus
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and Jira is a plus
Experience working in large-scale enterprise reporting and analytics environments

Responsibilities
