BHEL Project Engineer Vacancy 2026

BHEL has announced 16 Project Engineer vacancies under the FTA-1 category. The category-wise distribution is:

• UR: 8
• EWS: 1
• OBC-NCL: 4
• SC: 2
• ST: 1

Educational Qualification

Candidates should possess a full-time degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognised university or institution:

• Electronics
• Electrical
• Instrumentation
• Computer Science

Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. The minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates are 50%.

Applicants must also have at least 12 months of relevant post-qualification work experience.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 32 years as on August 1, 2026.

Age relaxation is applicable as per the prescribed rules:

• OBC-NCL: 3 years
• SC/ST: 5 years
• PwBD General: 10 years
• PwBD OBC-NCL: 13 years
• PwBD SC/ST: 15 years
• J&K domicile candidates: 5 years

Salary and Benefits

Selected Project Engineers will receive the following monthly remuneration:

• First Year: ₹84,000
• Second Year: ₹88,000

BHEL will also reimburse the premium for a Mediclaim Policy of ₹5 lakh for the selected employee and family, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Selection Process

The selection process will primarily involve a Personal Interview.

If the number of eligible applicants is up to 10 times the number of vacancies, all eligible candidates will be called for interview.

If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the 1:10 ratio, candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying degree examination.

Shortlisted candidates will receive individual communication regarding the interview through email.

Candidates called for interview will be reimbursed second-class return train fare by the shortest route from their starting station or mailing address, whichever is nearer, subject to production and verification of train tickets.
