Job summary

Bengaluru, October 6, 2026:Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has invited applications from retired senior scientists and officers for the position of Advisor on a temporary/contract basis at its Product Development & Innovation Centre (PDIC) in Bengaluru.

The engagement is specifically for the Sonar Segment, with higher preference for expertise in High Frequency Sonar systems.

Retired officers of the rank of Scientist-G / Scientist-F / Outstanding Scientist / Director / Associate Director or above from DRDO or other National R&D Laboratories.

Key Requirements:

Minimum 20 years of experience in end-to-end design, development, user trials and product support of low, medium and high frequency sonar systems

Strong expertise in underwater acoustics, signal processing, beamforming, transducer arrays, platform integration (ships, submarines, AUV/ROV) and related technologies

Upper age limit: 65 years (as on 01 September 2026)

Nature of Engagement

Initial tenure: One year (extendable year-on-year up to a maximum of 8 years or till the age of 68 years, based on performance and business requirement)

Mode of working: Hybrid (minimum 8 working days per month from BEL Bengaluru unit)

Remuneration: Based on last drawn pay from the previous organisation
