Behavioural Science and Research Short-term External Consultant

Duration: 3 months

Employment Type: Short-term External Consultant [Full time]

Location: Remote

Nature of Work

As an External Consultant, you will support the Deputy Programme Manager in developing innovative behavioural interventions and contribute to meaningful policy and program outcomes. This role offers a valuable learning experience, working on interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of behavioural science, research, and policy. The position provides exposure to various tasks, including field research, knowledge creation, and collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

Developing Behavioral Interventions

  • Contribute to the design and enhancement of evidence-based behavioural interventions that address complex societal challenges.
  • Assist in creating innovative tools and frameworks that bridge the gap between theory and practice, improving program impact and scalability.

Conducting Research & Data Collection

  • Undertake secondary research to uncover insights that shape strategic approaches to behavioural interventions.
  • Participate in primary research, developing tools, gathering data, and synthesizing findings to inform real-world solutions.
Knowledge Product Development
  • Develop compelling reports, presentations, and materials to communicate insights and inspire action among stakeholders.
  • Transform research outcomes into practical recommendations, influencing policy and program design at multiple levels.
Collaborating and Operational Support
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including designers and researchers, to drive innovative project execution.
  • Support the localisation of interventions by ensuring accurate translations and contextual adaptations for diverse audiences.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • A degree in Behavioral Science, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with experience in both primary and secondary research.
  • Proficiency in creating high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Ability to manage tight timelines and adapt to dynamic priorities.
  • Interest or experience in behaviour change frameworks and program design.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and platforms like Canva or PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience working in interdisciplinary or fast-paced environments.
