Job summary

EY in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Senior OSS Technology Consultant for Blue Planet Inventory (BPI). You will lead the implementation and integration of Ciena/Blue Planet products within telecom OSS environments, guiding design, development and data migration with a focus on inventory solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Telecom OSS, hands-on Java, Spring, SQL (Neo4j, PostgreSQL), and experience with Docker, AWS or Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience in Telecom OSS and Network Inventory.
• Experience with Ciena Blue Planet Inventory (BPI) and at least one OSS COTS product (e.g., Netcracker, Ericsson, Nokia).
• Knowledge of TMForum eTOM framework, Open Digital Architecture (ODA) & Open APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Delivery and implementation for OSS systems focusing on Blue Planet Inventory (BPI).
• Lead Business Analysis, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment and data migration.
• Develop system, process and data requirements; map OSS capabilities to customer needs and propose technical solutions.
• Write and optimize queries for Neo4j and PostgreSQL; develop GUI components and extend core product modules.
• Document changes and maintain coding standards; support deployment and environment setup with Docker, AWS, and Kubernetes.

The Opportunity

In this role, as a senior consultant in GDS Consulting, you will lead the implementation of Ciena/ Blue Planet products and integration with the telecommunications operators’ Operations Support Systems (OSS). You will be responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client's satisfaction.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Delivery and Product implementation, configuration, extensions, and integrations for OSS systems involving Ciena Blue Planet’s suite of products with specific focus on Blue Planet Network Inventory (BPI).
• Actively drive & participate in Business Analysis and requirements gathering, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, Data Migration and Support.
• You will develop system, process and data requirements of the customer.
• You will map OSS software (Network Inventory) capabilities to those needs and build consensus around the solution, proposes technical solutions to system requirements.
• You will develop applicable process and system change documentation; Develop and distribute project related documentation.
• Write and maintain Java code, create Spring beans, and develop JUnit tests.
• Develop and extend GUI components such as grids and reports using core product modules.
• Adhere to established coding and documentation standards while extending core product components.
• Write and optimize database queries and procedures, primarily for Neo4j, PostgreSQL.
• Support debugging, deployment, and environment setup using tools and platforms such as Docker, AWS, and Kubernetes.

Domain Knowledge:

• Consultant with minimum of 5+ Years proven experience and significant knowledge in Telecom OSS Network Inventory.
• Experience in Ciena Blue Planet Inventory (BPI).
• Experience in at least one of the OSS COTS products (E.g. Netcracker, Ericsson, Nokia, etc.)
• Knowledge of and preferably certification in TMForum’s eTOM framework along with Open Digital Architecture (ODA) and Open APIs.
• Exceptional quantitative skills enabling identification of key business issues and progression of solutions.
• A bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/ or any other relevant discipline.
