Job description

We have an opportunity for Backup Administration

Location: Bhubaneswar / Delhi / Guwahati

Experience: 6+ Years of experience in CommVault and Cloud Backup solutions

Preferred Skills:

1. Hands-on experience with backup software like CommVault, NetBackup, Veeam etc.
2. Proficient with Linux OS.
3. Primary troubleshooting of backup or restoration failure issues.
4. Good understanding of cloud backup technologies like GCP, Azure, AWS.
5. Experience with backup hardware such as physical/virtual tape libraries (VTL), disk-based backups, and understanding of backups via SAN, NAS, and other mediums.
6. Monitoring backup jobs and dashboards to track real-time backup failures.
7. Proficient in incident management, performance analysis, root cause analysis, and alert analysis.
8. Perform restorations as per requests, ensuring proper approvals and following ITSM procedures.
9. Timely escalation of unresolved issues or seeking assistance from higher levels.
10. Installation, upgrades, and configuration of new backup clients.
11. Periodic housekeeping and log cleanup for smooth backup operations and vulnerability management.
12. Configure and maintain backup policies, tape drives, catalog backups, reports, and trend analysis with basic forecasting.

Additional Skills (Nice to have):

1. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on daily tasks.
2. Work diligently with general instructions on new assignments or upgrades.
3. Multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines with a flexible attitude.
4. Experience with enterprise-level monitoring and analytics tools.
5. Industry-standard certifications related to technology or cloud.
6. Shell scripting, automation, and tool implementation skills.
