Job summary

Innovalus Technologies is seeking an experienced Backend API FDE Lead in Bangalore to drive design and development of multi-tenant, white-label APIs for cloud-native platforms. You will own API design decisions, contract-first development with OpenAPI/AsyncAPI, and build scalable microservices using NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.

Immediate joiners preferred; relocation not required. Mentor peers, ensure code quality and best practices, and collaborate across squads to deliver robust API

Qualifications

• Must have strong NestJS/Node.js/TypeScript skills and microservices experience.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with multi-tenant, SaaS or cloud-native platforms.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/AsyncAPI and contract-first development.

Responsibilities

• Lead API design and architecture for multi-tenant, white-label platforms.
• Build and own microservices using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Drive contract-first development using OpenAPI/AsyncAPI specifications.
• Design tenant-aware data models across PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
• Review and mentor engineers on API design and code quality.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools across the SDLC.

About the Role:

We're hiring a Backend API FDE to lead the design and development of multi-tenant, white-label APIs for cloud-native platforms.

You’ll drive API design decisions, own contract-first development, and build scalable microservices using NestJS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead API design and architecture decisions for multi-tenant, white-label platforms
• Build and own microservices using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS
• Drive contract-first development using OpenAPI/AsyncAPI specifications
• Design tenant-aware data models across PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB
• Review and mentor peer engineers on API design and code quality
• Apply AI-augmented development tools (Claude Code and similar) across the SDLC

Must-Have Skills:

• NestJS, Node.js, TypeScript, Microservices Architecture
• Docker, Kubernetes
• Any 2 of AWS/Azure/GCP (AWS ECS experience preferred)
• Design Patterns, SOLID Principles, OOP
• PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB

Good to Have:

• Experience with AI-assisted/spec-driven development (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor)
• Multi-tenant SaaS platform experience
