Job description

Responsibilities

• Build up Even's back‑end infrastructure covering insurance use cases and healthcare ones, with ownership and responsibility.
• Build tools to enable doctors and hospitals to provide efficient, seamless access to care: EMR platform, Telemedicine, Cashless settlements, Hospital portals, Booking systems.
• Build tools for boosting productivity of developers and team members, e.g., time machine for viewing DB data at any point in history, LLM‑based data science engine, etc.
• Enable and build AI/ML use cases around risk quantification, prevention, and patient engagement, e.g., LLM‑based medical chatbot on WhatsApp.
• Integrate with external partners and vendors such as labs, diagnostics centres, banks for UPI payments, hospitals, payment gateways and KYC solutions, analytics tools.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar strongly typed language like C++ or Java.
• Exposure to programming practices in tech‑first companies, such as distributed build systems, continuous integration & deployment, staging/prod.
• Experience with serverless architectures.
• Exposure to Google Cloud and NoSQL databases.
• Data engineering experience and interest in ML.

About the Company

At Even, we think there is a better approach to healthcare that allows everyone to be fully covered for all their healthcare needs, including prevention as well as treatment. By taking on the clinical care ourselves, we can make this coverage cheaper than traditional insurance products. We work with insurers, labs, hospitals and have our own doctors and medical facilities to provide our services. The tech team, with under 20 people, has built many systems from scratch over the past two years: an in‑house EMR platform, a consumer app with many features, countless integrations and internal platforms, even a UPI scanner that integrates directly with banks. There is so much the tech team does at Even, and there is still more to build.
