Job summary

GoodScore is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer who loves building fast, scalable services that power intuitive user experiences. You’ll own features end-to-end, collaborate with product, design and frontend teams, and ship in a high-growth environment.

You’ll design and implement scalable backend systems, APIs, and data models, focusing on performance, reliability and security while mentoring peers and driving engineering best practices across the team.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of backend development experience.
• Experience with Node.js and/or Python.

• Understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), data modelling, and query optimisation.
• Experience with system design, performance optimisation, and scalability best practices.
• Familiarity with caching, messaging queues and asynchronous processing is a plus.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorisation, and security best practices.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
